The DERO Project team would first like to extend our thoughts and best wishes to all that have been affected by the global pandemic. The risks and damages to personal health and well-being have impacted so many lives and in as many ways. It is in this moment that we must embrace solidarity, practice compassion for others, and attend to our loved ones in their time of need. We know that attention is divided between the many issues everyone faces in these trying times, so we will try to keep this update brief.
Where Are We?
From our latest release, AstroBWT, to what the future of our project will be, the DERO team has been working to bring uniquely private and secure services to users around the globe. With each milestone that we reach, we come one step closer to realizing the dreams set forth in our whitepaper.
Below, we will go over the status of the different moving parts of our project:
AstroBWT
CPU Mineable Proof-of-Work Algorithm
It has been almost a month since we hard-forked to our new egalitarian Proof-of-Work algorithm. Our aim has been to limit the performance advantage of all mining hardware to allow for competitive CPU mining. So far, AstroBWT has proven to meet our goals and our network has shown tremendous growth as CPU and GPU miners have started to migrate. Our humble gratitude and thanks go to our community developers, members, and pool operators for their expertise and all efforts, which encouraged more people to learn about our small space in this industry.

Stargate
Fully Homomorphic Encrypted Smart Contracts (FHE-SC)
The most anticipated milestone for this project. The development team is now dedicating all of its focus on raising the bar on how much privacy can be preserved for our users, and how much performance can be gained. We still expect to see Stargate in Q2 2020, so please be patient as we move closer to our official release. Branding, User Experience, and Infrastructure
Branding
Some time ago we had decided to extend the Phase 3 development of our digital presence package to Q1 of 2020, which pushed our Phase 4 deployment into Q2 of 2020. During this time, Eric Jordan has worked with us to bring an array of user experience and visual enhancements to our project. His commitment to meet and exceed all of our expectations has been welcomed and very much appreciated. There is still some time before we deploy our new website, but we will provide updates in the near future.
Infrastructure
From wallets to useful services, we have been considering the commonly overlooked areas for improvement, but required more immediate solutions. A common theme that is shared between all projects is, user experience. Now and moving forward, our goal will be to place more emphasis on making our software more easy to use, and more aesthetically pleasing where possible.
