Smart Contract Development Competition & DEROCON 2

Good Morning,

Firstly, we would like to thank everyone who took part in the Smart Contract development competition, we appreciate a lot of time and effort has been made and some truly fantastic work has been completed. During this time of testing we have identified areas that can be improved, and Captain is hard at work completing these tasks.

In the initial competition post we advised that the winners would be announced at DEROCON 2. We have decided that we are too early in the DERO journey to be holding DEROCON every quarter and have decided to make DEROCON an annual event. We aim to bring DEROCON 2 either late 2019 or early 2020. Another contributing factor to this is we have some very exciting and important events leading up towards the end of 2019.

Now for the competition winners. We have 3 options available and we would like you to decide on how the winners are chosen;

Option 1 — A conventional vote, we will list the entries and you can vote on which you would like to win.

Option 2 — The very first Smart Contract on Mainnet will be a voting contract. The competition winner will be chosen this way and they will become part of DERO history by being crowned winners on the very first smart contract on the DERO Mainnet.

Option 3 — Winner is chosen by the development team.

Again, we thank you all for your patience as we work on bringing DERO into its next phase. A lot of hard work is going on behind the scenes so rest assured things are going the right way and we are all excited to bring you updates as soon as we can.
