I, personally, have never visited a place like Jupiter art land, and was very intrigued to view the pieces of artwork they have on display. We were taking round the displays throughout the day, and given a brief description of the artwork and the sculpture of the piece. One art piece I was very interested in was called ‘SUCK’ by Anish Kapoor. It is surrounded by a cage and makes the void seem endless and have no end to it. The cage itself was also designed to appear to have no door into it, leaving me curious and more interested in finding the pit of the artwork.

Another piece of art work i was very interested in at Jupiter art land was a more humorous piece. It was located in an open field at Jupiter art land and called ‘Proposal 90, A Signpost to Jupiter’. I found this piece by Peter Liversidge to catch my attention due to its comical nature. This is because the sign appears to be pointing up to space and the planet Jupiter, when actually Jupiter art land itself is named after the god Jupiter, however the signpost wants to remind you of the planet.

Another piece of art work i was interested in was ‘Weeping Girls’ by Laura Ford. This piece honestly frightened me when we first stumbled across a number of little girl sculptures in the forest. However i feel this initial creepy feel is what made me want to know more about the art work. We were told Laura was inspired by her friends daughter who was having a tantrum, and each sculpture of a girl was the stages the tantrum went through. We were told the long hair of the weeping girls was actually a mob that was covered then sculpted.
