Mysteries of Meroe Revealed
A Deep South Empire
In Chapter two in Basil Davidson’s book “The Lost Cities of Africa by Basil Davidson.” He opens in this chapter dealing with the Lords of the Southern Frontier.
Why did he use this title for this chapter?
What was the Mystery of Meroe?
Where was God’s Land or Ta-Neter?
Instead of the typical title
The Mystery of Egypt or The Mystery of the Nile
Basil Davidson leads with this title
The Mystery of Meroe
He chose this title because when a person hears the phrase “Mystery of the Nile” or something similar. We gravitate towards the northeastern part of Africa along the Delta. Some would think of the dynastic period or the Golden Age of Kemet, and nothing more. Meroe is a mystery.
Society does not mention it, and you hear nothing about it. The first time I heard about Meroe was in college. I knew about Egypt. I knew about the Pyramids of Giza. I knew about the Sphinx, also known as
The Heru em Akhet
