Definition of Ready
Welcome to the Jira for Designers series brought to you by Design at Scale™ — Academy. In a previous article, we discussed the handover between the team and the impact on the design delivery. This article will examine what criteria we use for the handover of our files and how Jira can help us manage the workload between the design and engineering teams.
Final_Final•well*Final
Whether you are a front-end engineer or designer, I’m sure you have been in a situation where you have a final_final.final file. It often happens when the objectives or high-level requirements(↘︎Link) of the proposition are not defined correctly or when the discovery and the delivery happen simultaneously. It’s quite sad that even in the 21st century, where every agency prides itself on operational excellence(↘︎Link), we don’t really know what we want (bad or incomplete briefs) and force the design function to discover things while building it at the same time. Dozens of designers suffer the consequences of not having clear definitions and colouring of the wireframes to fulfil the basic requirements of a screen delivering the basic function.
