3 secrets to finding great photos
What to search for and what to avoid
I’ve been keeping busy with a handful of client projects these past few weeks. Notably, the single design challenge all of these projects have had in common is photo quality & selection. A case of bad photos vs. good photos, if you will.
A poor photo can detract from your message and make your content appear amateur and substandard. (It might be a better idea to not use a photo at all!) By up-leveling your photos, you add significant value. You can use photography to your storytelling advantage to make your content resonate and create emotional impact.

But first, the bad news. Finding great images is hard and is probably going to take a lot longer than you think. I’ve been hunting for great images for what feels like eons. Sometimes, it can take two or three hours to find a single great photo.
The good news is that amazing photos are out there just waiting to be found. You’re no longer stranded in a sea of “blah” stock images— there are so many resources available including professional-quality free photos…
