Hi 👋 I’m Grace and I’m currently a Senior Product Designer working at Disney. It’s been around 1–2 months since I’ve helped out with our team’s Design Systems and there’s a lot I’ve been learning.

For some context, I’ve been working with 4 other designers to help create a streamlined system to aid colleagues in going from ideas to final products (shoutout to Sarah, Henry, Miah, and Matt ⭐️). Here are some of the main things I’ve been taking away from this process.

1. Design systems require IMMENSE DETAIL

If you ever want to work on design systems, a great question to ask yourself is how you would rate your attention to detail. Every little thing matters. From organizing your file documentation to writing straightforward descriptions, as painstaking as it may be, the more meticulous you are, the better. It can be seen as a “thankless” job sometimes but these minute pieces will one day snowball into making a world of difference.

2. Design systems require FEEDBACK
