Designed a Health mobile App for an interview, unfortunately didn’t make it to the next stage 😥

The Task

Design a few screens of a mobile health Application that can be integrated with wearable devices.

Duration: 3 - 4 days

Problem statement

A lot of people have had difficulty accessing immediate healthcare services as a result of distance, cost or time constraints. There has also been difficulty keeping track of basic health data such as blood pressure, heart rate.

Aim

Through the problems pointed out, the aim of this application is to :

  • Design a health app that would monitor and track these data, through wearable devices or manual input.
  • A mobile App that would provide virtual consultations as a form of remote healthcare.

The Process

Research:

The idea to design a mobile health app in a space of 4 days looked like a doable challenge. To achieve this, I created a mood board to ease the process and direct me through the right path. Gathered series of images to assist me in achieving the intended concept.

Also, reached out to a couple of people ranging from the elderly to the young adults to get an insight on the possible outcome of this application.

Features

To achieve the given task, I decided to design an intuitive and user-friendly interface, with a focus on simplicity and accessibility which had the following features:

  • Personalized health assessments based on data collected from wearable devices and smart home technology, such as sleep patterns and physical activity levels.
  • Real-time monitoring and alerts for potential health concerns, such as high heart rate or blood sugar levels.
  • Integration with electronic medical records to provide a comprehensive view of the user’s health history.

Users

Teenagers, Adults and Elderly people who are in need of health assistance and also those who want to keep track of their healthy lifestyle

Solution

Got to work immediately, with constant reference to the created mood board, set goals and expected features.

Challenges Faced:

Faced a couple of challenges along the way. In a bid to make it aesthetically pleasing, the design structure was iterated a couple of times, (well, a little bit more than normal😀 ).

Also, The color combination was a bit tricky. Had to be a bit careful so the whole App don’t scream “error” because of the presence of the red color.

Conclusion

The initial aim was to submit on time, but, along the line, it got really interesting and really intriguing to hear what people felt about a health app like this. Gathered a lot of opinions that led to the final submission.

The choice of color and font was to portray warmth to it’s users. The app was made as simple as possible for easy access by its users. The concept and style was achieved.

If you followed the case study to this stage, I want to commend your attention span and I have a 100% congratulations to share, so, I’ll be giving you 80% and I’ll be keeping 20% for myself 😀 .
