Automated Google PageSpeed: How I Built an n8n Node to Save 95% Manual Time
As a Senior UX/UI Designer with some (19+) years of experience, I’ve always been captivated by the intersection of user experience and robust technical solutions. My career, spanning diverse sectors and working with multicultural global corporations and also digital agencies, has been driven by a relentless pursuit of intuitive design and streamlined processes. While my formal background is in design and digital business, my practical journey into full-stack development came through the immersive experience of a bootcamp — a testament to my unyielding hunger for code and a deep-seated passion for problem-solving with technology.
I’m not an engineer by title, but a builder by nature, constantly learning and applying new skills (And Mistakes).
In my weekly tasks, particularly when managing a growing portfolio of websites for various clients, a recurring challenge consistently chipped away at productivity: the laborious process of website performance analysis. Manually checking Google PageSpeed, Pingdom or GTmetrix scores, tracking Core Web Vitals, and generating comprehensive reports for multiple URLs was a time-consuming, repetitive cycle. It wasn’t just tedious; it was a significant bottleneck that hindered proactive optimization and timely client feedback.
