Dealing with job hunting rejections

We’ve all been there once we started a new job search. After sending out several job applications to companies we aspire to work for, our enthusiasm was met with letters of rejections and they often came back without constructive feedback. For some people, this cycle of applying and rejection continues for weeks or even months. Especially for new designers who are trying to enter the field, the first job-hunting process can be seriously demoralizing. Among the people who I had the opportunity to mentor so far, coping with rejections is consistently one of the most critical topics to go over at the beginning of the job-hunting process.

In this article, I am going to share some insights and advice on how to navigate through this rejection phase. I often say that job hunting can feel like dealing with a black box, you keep putting effort into it but it’s uncertain how you are progressing. If you are currently searching for your next role and feeling frustrated, lost, or discouraged, I hope that this article will provide you with some action items to keep yourself grounded throughout the rest of your job hunt.
