This rewards & gamification elements is to boost user engagement. It provides rewards, badges, points, and levels based on user interactions and achievements, motivating users to keep participating and interacting with the platform.

Timeline: 1.5 month | Process Followed: Competitive Analysis, Design Thinking, User Flow, Designing UI, Prototyping

The primary objective of this project was to enhance user engagement and encourage higher utilization of rewards by designing an intuitive and visually appealing widget that prominently features on the Airasia MOVE homepage. By increasing the burn rate for rewards, we aimed to drive greater user retention and loyalty while also generating additional revenue for the business.

Design Process

The design process for the rewards widget involved collaborative efforts within a group, working closely with a few designers, including rewards designers, to explore and review iterative designs. Beginning with group brainstorming sessions, we leveraged diverse expertise to generate creative ideas. Collaborating with the rewards designer, we identified user needs and pain points, crafting solutions to address them. Through iterative exploration and review, we refined designs, soliciting feedback from stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals. This iterative approach allowed us to experiment with different concepts, incorporating stakeholder feedback at each stage. By fostering collaboration and iterative design practices, we created a successful and impactful member tier tracker.

Impacts

  • Increased User Engagement: The spotlight of the rewards widget on the homepage led to a significant increase in user engagement with the rewards feature, as users were more likely to discover and utilize their rewards points.
  • Improved User Experience: By providing easy access to rewards information directly from the homepage, we enhanced the overall user experience, reducing friction and streamlining the rewards redemption process.

What we’ve learned

For this task, we’ve learned the importance of effective communication, alignment, and prioritization. With so many ideas and voices contributing to the discussion, it’s been crucial to ensure that everyone is on the same page and working towards common goals. By actively communicating and aligning our efforts, we’ve been able to identify key priorities and focus our resources on what needs to be done. This collaborative approach has not only fostered a sense of unity within the team but has also allowed us to make informed decisions and drive the project forward with clarity and purpose.

Conclusion

By prioritizing user-centric design principles and iterative development, we were able to create a valuable feature that delivers tangible benefits to both users and the business alike.

Next Steps

However, our journey doesn’t end here. We’re committed to continuous improvement and innovation. Currently in phase 1, we’re actively iterating and exploring additional enhancements to further elevate the rewards experience for our users and ensure sustained business growth. Stay tuned!
