How I Got My First Paying Customer Under 24 Hours
Sharing Experience
After almost two years of building products with little success, I finally got my first paying customer in under 24 hours.
The journey wasn’t easy, but it was a valuable lesson in simplicity and solving real problems.
As a designer, I spent hours screenshotting websites for every project, sometimes visiting 50–100 sites.
This tedious task led me to realize that other designers likely faced the same issue. Instead of overcomplicating things, I decided to build a simple Figma plugin that would allow designers to screenshot websites in bulk.
The challenge was technical. I didn’t know how to build the plugin myself, so I partnered with a developer who had no experience with Figma plugins but was eager to learn.
There were plenty of doubts along the way, but his commitment paid off. In the end, we launched Figscreen.com.
Surprisingly, within just 24 hours, I had my first paying customer. This success wasn’t due to having a fully polished product or a perfect website — it came from solving a real pain point for designers.
It proved that sometimes, simplicity and solving an actual problem are all you need to succeed.
As I continue to improve Figscreen. my focus is on providing better, more affordable solutions.
This experience taught me that launching a product doesn’t require perfection, just a good idea and a willingness to learn and iterate.
If you’re struggling to launch, start with something simple and solve a problem you know well. You might just find your first paying customer sooner than you think.
