Do you think Networking means having awkward talks with strangers and trying to sell yourself?

Don’t be shy to admit it. I used to think the same.

It could seem that way from a distance. But its not that.

Networking is not having Awkward Conversations

Networking has been an art of converting awkward conversations into meaningful relationships. But its not limited to physical presence and those awkward silences anymore. If you convert the conversation to a virtual one, you can take your time to respond and it doesn’t feel so awkward anymore (Gold. I know)

Well jokes apart, you’ll not really network unless you have a genuine intent behind your actions. With genuine intent you build real connections. The ones that become new business, or bring you new business. If nothing else, they support you. That’s what networking is all about.

Networking is building genuine connections

Networking is more than just showing your face

You don’t like going to events? At times, me neither. There are many other ways to “show your face” and connect with others. You can build genuine connections based on your profile, skills and/or just words.
