Background
This is my first UX case study from the time I started my UX journey. It was long pending to be published in my list as I was caught between my work assignments, UX internships and raising a kid. I almost put this project aside and forgot about it . When I started this project I had limited knowledge of the UX design world and now I can see that I have walked a long way. I am so proud of my progress therefore it is high time to revise this project and publish it for my portfolio to fulfill my promise to myself.
Project Challenges
- Creating a web based online portal.
- Find the right target group for my idea.
- Sell or buy products online without downloading an app.
- Use design thinking methods to find solution space.
The Process- Design Thinking
Quantitative Research
UX Without User Research Is Not UX — Nielsen Norman Group
I began with quantitative research with the goal of understanding the real requirements of a target group. Here are my research key findings are:
Problem statements
Information Architecture
Initial Sketches and wireframe
Visual Design
After several usability tests we come out with a solution that suits to the users.
High-Fidelity Screens
After creating the UI style guide, I started creating high-fidelity screen mockups on Figma. The overall user interface design was kept minimal to ensure users don’t get overwhelmed or distracted while using the application.

Key takeaways
In Project Journey:
There is a long way to go after the HI-fi prototypes, first and foremost the usability testing. Working on the Barginio application was really interesting as well as informative. The research conducted to absorb the domain knowledge proved to be really valuable. Research is the key to build any strategy which leads to a relatable User Experience whether online or offline.
In Personal Journey:
Self-learning is not as difficult as it used to be. Thanks to the information and inspirations available online. I had made some altercation later on the prototype as it was earlier really basic. I really enjoyed working and published this project. All the project related nostalgia flash when I was working again on this case study.
Hope you enjoy and thank you for reading :)
