Rapid prototyping AI applications to transform customer experiences

Problem/Background:

With almost 1,500 Veterans Affairs (VA) treatment facilities and hospitals in the United States, a great customer experience is crucial for properly serving millions of veterans every year. It can be challenging to navigate VA hospitals for new patients. They may be confused about what is available and where to go. Through personal experience and qualitative research I have journey mapped the experience that veterans go through when going to an appointment at the VA:

Phase 1: Preparation for Visit

In this phase the veteran is preparing to go to the appointment. This phase mostly consists of preparing logistics to getting to the appointment and ensuring that they will get there on time. If they are more than 15 minutes late or miss the appointment, it may be months before they can get another one.
