Redefining User Experience: Transforming Medi-Call UI/UX Design
It’s an hour-long design challenge session with a good friend Rodrigopalafox when we decided to revisit an old case study during our KodeGo days. Initially, we just wanted to see how we have grown in design thinking and practice. But of course, we learned a lot.
In today’s digital world, how an app looks and feels can make a big difference in how we use it. Let’s take a look at how Medi-Call, a mobile app for online medical help, has changed to make things easier for everyone.
The Story Begins:
- Medi-Call is all about helping you with medical stuff online. Think talking to doctors, getting medicine, and checking health worries without leaving home.
- But during the pandemic, when going to the hospital wasn’t easy, we realized Medi-Call needed some upgrades to be even better.
What We Found:
- First off, when we looked at the way Medi-Call worked, we noticed something missing — an onboarding page. This page helps new users understand what the app can do. So, we added it to give folks a quick rundown of how Medi-Call can help them.
A Fresh Look:
- The old design had lots of fancy effects that made it look old-fashioned. We decided to simplify things with a cleaner, 2D look. Bye-bye, shadows and fancy stuff!
Your History Matters:
- We thought it would be cool if Medi-Call remembered what you’ve done before. So now, it keeps track of your past visits and preferences to give you a more personalized experience. Pretty neat, right?
Appointments Made Easy:
- Before, your appointments crowded up the main screen. Now, they pop up in a notification only when you need them. This makes things less cluttered and easier to find.
Keeping It Simple:
- We switched to just two colors and made sure everything was the right size and shape. This makes using Medi-Call much easier and less confusing.
The Bottom Line:
- With all these changes, Medi-Call is now simpler, smarter, and more user-friendly. We believe in putting you — the user — first. As Medi-Call keeps making remote medical care easier, our redesign stands as proof that thoughtful design can truly improve our lives.
