Sonnet about a UX writer's life
Some will ask for a review’s embrace
Others to correct or read anew
Meetings will sometimes be askew
Urgent requests won’t slow their pace
We’ll write to explore, to understand
We’ll iterate to shape our prose
With teams to moderate and compose
Knowledge we’ll gain, it’s in our hand
Life can be like playing marbles, a game
And also like untangling a mess
Craft a text that soothes, not just in name
A virtue to avoid writing with disdain
Unless they ask for thoughts to transgress
We always say: please, let learning reign.
About the process:
I took a risk in this adventure.
Followed metrics and rhymes, and counted characters.
Researched and formulated the phrases.
Any resemblance to our UX writing field is not a coincidence, believe me.
It was an internal, external, deconstructive process.
Playing, taking risks, adventuring… call it what you want.
But exploring this side was liberating.
Not taking oneself too seriously feels so good.
