New product onboarding review from a UXer’s eye.

I came across a new AI SaaS platform StyleAI that can be used to enhance businesses’ online presence through AI assistants for SEO optimization and Google Ads management.

Decided to give it a try and here are my quick observations.

Landing page screenshot: StyleAI
Landing Page: Why is ‘Sign in’ not highlighted ?

Landing page looked ok to me, with highlighted and rightly located CTA ‘Start for free’. However, I would also highlight ‘Sign in’ to help the existing users to easily locate it.

Could use quicker ways for ‘Sign-up’ : Social login based SSO

The Sign-up page is not encouraging the user to try this new product which they are still unsure about. As a first time user, I clicked on ‘Start for free’ and was landed on this page with multiple text fields to fill.

Improvement ideas:

I would add social login based single signon[SSO] options such as Google to signup which is a common practice in the industry.

I would also add some details about each field and which field is mandatory to help the users make quick and easy decisions and improve the experience of the first interaction with new users.

After signing up, I am in this page where I can choose from two options which I am quite clear about what to expect from from the descriptions. ‘Seona’ is a AI powered SEO expert and ‘Adwin’ is a Google Ad Campaign launcher. The descriptions are short and help the users to quickly choose.

Just add a button

I chose Seona and was landed on this page with a short greeting and a text field to input my site. However, the field itself is confusing, as a user, I am not sure whether to type https:// or is it already typed. And the arrow ‘enter’ looks like a button I have to click on, but is not clickable. Also, a non-tech user would struggle to understand the meaning of the arrow.

Improvement ideas:

It can be made easier for the user by either adding a short description under the text field, or describing better inside text field, or adding a button.

Provide more : entice the user to continue

After I enter the website, Seona provided me with this short and very basic writeup, which doesn’t provide me with any insight into Seona’s intelligence other than that it can recognize my business. The score provided, doesn't give me any insight into the why’s I am interested about.

One more step to view more ?

When I scrolled down, I am asked to click on another button to create project.

Why cant the project be auto created when I enter the website ?

However, this question is answered when I click on the button, with a not-so-happy surprise.

Misleading the users ?

I clicked on ‘Start for free’ on the landing page, and after all the steps, they ask me to pay before I try. This would definitely break the user’s trust. However, they are providing a week’s free tiral after the user purchases a plan, which some users mentioned as deceiving.

Improvement ideas:

Provide 1 week free trial first and then ask the users to signup after the trial. This would be fair for the first time users and would also help the company gain user’s trust. Anyway if the user is happy with the product, they will definitely purchase and if not, they will cancel before the trial period.

Why ?

This method would increase the number of users for the product, as they would give-it-a-try and also help in training the product to get better by using feedback loops.

Feel free to give the product a try @ StyleAI .
