The Unspoken Side of Career Change

I’ve started over as a beginner countless times — moving to a new state, adapting to a new school, stepping into a new job, switching professions, enrolling in a university. Then starting over again. Another job, another country. The same country that once felt like home but no longer did.

Another city, another career. Then another country, another university. Back to the old country, which now felt even less like home.

A new career, a new city. Then another city, another job. Another city, another job. Another city, another job.

And just like that — poof — another career, another city, another country once again.

You’d think after all these fresh starts, I’d be used to change. That adaptation would come naturally. But starting over as a beginner never gets easier. It feels inevitable, like a part of life, but that doesn’t make it easy.

It’s like a singer stepping onto the stage, feeling that rush of adrenaline every time. They know it will be fine, but the emotion is…
