The responsibility for the user experience lies on the shoulders of UX Designers. They need to make the user experience incredible to achieve user satisfaction and positive feedback.

UX designers face various challenges in their design projects, but when it comes to crypto communities, these challenges are multiplied in terms of quantity and intricacy.

In this article, we are going to discuss the top 3 challenges that designers face while working with crypto communities. It will help designers to understand these challenges and face them through possible solutions.

1) Cryptocurrency requires extensive knowledge

The first problem that designers face is that cryptocurrency requires extensive knowledge. The users of the cryptocurrency should have enough knowledge of the blockchain and the currency before using it. But due to the complexity of cryptocurrency, a new user needs a lot of time to get everything. This is one of the biggest hurdles in front of a UX designer.

As the users do not know much about the technology, it becomes difficult for a designer to offer an excellent experience. The designer needs to explain everything and make the process extremely simple for such users. For such purposes, the designers offer quick help, blogs, guides, and informative content to the users so that they can understand everything without any hassle.

2) Control of the users

Blockchain gives full control to the users over their accounts. It is undoubtedly an exceptional benefit of using blockchain or cryptocurrency. The users have complete control of their passwords, transactions, and other settings. But this control also creates various challenges for UX designers.

When the users have full control, they are responsible for everything. If they do any unwanted transaction by accident, there is no way back. Unlike banks that deal with centralized currency, you cannot get your cryptocurrency back into your account. Similarly, if someone scams you, you cannot track him or reverse the transaction. Thus, the users can be in trouble if they make any mistakes.

The UX designers need to refrain users from making mistakes. There can be multiple authentications and warnings while making a transaction. Similarly, there should be multiple steps involved in making a transaction so that users cannot make any mistakes. UX designers need to try their best to keep the money of the users safe by mitigating their errors.

3) Complex onboarding, exchange, smart contracts, and wallets

The onboarding in cryptocurrency takes considerable time. Plus, it is not a simple process as you might need to install another app to onboard. The verification, multiple applications, and regulations make the user frustrated and unhappy.

Smart contracts and wallets are usually difficult because of their improper design. There are dozens of currencies at the moment, and managing them is quite difficult. If you have multiple currencies, you will need to learn about the transactions, payment processing system, usage, and a lot of things about every currency.

Moreover, for each currency, you need to use a different website, application, or browser. All these things make wallets and smart contracts pretty complicated for users, especially beginners. Plus, many users get frustrated when they need to do all these things.

The challenge for a UX designer is to make smart contracts and wallets easier. If all these wallets and contracts become as simple as using a centralized currency, the user experience will be incredible. There should be a similar way of dealing with all types of wallets.
