The results of an online pharmacy mastersdirect.com, revealed that the high street pharmacy can be a ‘humiliation hot-spot’ for people confronting their embarrassing health issues. In this research, condoms were voted to be one of the most embarrassing products to buy.

It is no news that a good number of married people are shy about their sexuality. So, imagine a person that can barely talk to his kids about biology go into a store and hold a box that has a design that screams “erotic”.

So, what if condoms came in a minimalist package, so minimalist, it comes with a neutral color? Well, in my opinion, that would seem pretty exclusive.

And a good number of the market share want to be exclusive with their bedroom activities. Companies that sell bedroom products with the promise to be as discreet as possible have shown great promise on the growth graph, adding to the US$ 30,974.79 million that the industry has generated.

Driving this to Product Design, the number one rule for every design is to be “User-Centric’. Every interaction your user has with your design registers some emotion to their mind. One secret weapon the brain uses are mental models. They allow us to save cognitive energy by fitting what is happening in the world to past experiences and previous models we have built. So, you want to drive sales? put yourself in your users’ shoes, think how they think, feel how they feel, and present your product in a way that would make more of them want to associate with your products.
