You all probably are wondering, “Why the heck, I can’t find any job this year?” Well, bad news for you: it’s due to the biggest crisis and collapse of the UX world ever. The gold rush for UX is over, and no longer is it an easy job to get or perform. So if you’re not ready to work your ass off, be creative, be driven, be a dreamer, and be way above average, then the exit is to the right, bye!

The Shift in UX Landscape

Gone are the days when UX was a field anyone could jump into with minimal effort. Today, it’s all about AI and Spatial Computing — real game changers that are reinventing how we interact with the digital world. UX isn’t just about screens anymore; it’s about creating experiences that integrate seamlessly into the physical world, like designing how an AI would guide you through a crowded concert venue or an automated hotel.

First off, it’s time to pivot. Start thinking spatially and AI-driven. How would you design an interface that doesn’t rely on a screen? Imagine interaction based purely on gesture, spatial recognition, and voice input — skills that are quickly becoming essential.

Networking is your new best friend. Hit up startup meetups, not the old-school UX gatherings. Pitch your futuristic ideas to those who are pioneering new technologies. The startups sitting on cash and not afraid to experiment are your playground. Make yourself invaluable by offering solutions that bridge design with tech innovations.

Making it in the New UX Economy

Here’s the thing — investors are mostly interested in one thing: will it make their money? Your job as a designer is to show them how your skills can translate into profitable solutions. Think about creating comprehensive packages that include everything from research to user testing scripts. Show that you’re not just a designer; you’re a one-stop shop for turning their investments into tech gold.

Your portfolio should scream innovation. It’s no longer just about what you’ve done, but what you can do. Reflect on your knowledge of AI and Spatial Computing in your projects. This isn’t just about catching up; it’s about leading the charge into new realms of UX.

Looking Ahead: UX Isn’t Dead, It’s Evolving

Yes, the old UX world is dead. But like a phoenix, a new one is rising from its ashes — one that’s more vibrant, challenging, and tech-integrated than ever before. If you’re ready to evolve, to push boundaries, and to make a mark, then welcome to the new era of UX. Where, a position like Design Engineer, and Human Experience Manager will become a new norm. For more check out this fantastic YouTube video, and the rest I got from my mentor with 30+ years of experience in Design field.

The message is clear for all budding UX designers: adapt, innovate, and keep pushing forward. The UX world might be tough right now, but for those willing to embrace change and tackle new challenges, the opportunities are limitless.
