Why UX Designers Are Shifting Away From Their Careers
Many of us are either quitting or transitioning to new careers. Is the UX design dream over or is it transforming into something else?
Every field has its downsides, and understanding them will help set realistic expectations and prevent frustration when facing challenges. I think pursuing a career is very similar to choosing where to live.
For example: I would rather live in a tropical country and earn less than live in a cold country and not be able to enjoy beach days.
Despite the job saturation, every profession has its pros and cons, you need to understand what each of them has and what works and doesn't work for you — I only learned that living in Ireland wasn't for me after a year of trying it out.
I don't blame anyone who transitioned into UX Design, couldn't find a job, or didn't adapt, and now is seeking something else.
I also can't blame those who have been in the field for over 10 years and now after experiencing the effects of saturation, with lower salaries and many hats to wear have decided to pivot away from it.
