Why you should always aim for high-fidelity mockups
You might use wireframes for initial product concepts and ideas. That’s just fine. However, they are very problematic, if you stick to them for too long; or if you use them at a stage later then the very initial ideation.
But first, some words about the big brother here: High-fidelity mockups.
A high-fidelity mockup is a precise replica of the user interface that will be used in the final product. It is an essential tool for designers and developers to communicate their ideas and gather feedback from stakeholders. There are many benefits to aiming for detailed mockups instead of low level stuff like wireframes. High-fidelity mockups are more realistic, and therefore give stakeholders a better understanding of the final product. They are also easier to change and iterate on, making the design process more efficient. Ultimately, high-fidelity mockups result in a better user experience because they are closer to the real thing. By aiming for high fidelity from the start, designers and developers can avoid potential problems down the line and create a product that users will love.
