“And will you succeed? Yes you will indeed! (98 and 3/4 percent guaranteed.)” — Dr. Seuss

In last week’s Design Eggs & Jam, we covered the life-lesson of moving mountains to make the impossible possible and we dived into how this project was conceived. This week, we are reaffirming this theme with the second lesson:

“And will you succeed? Yes you will indeed! (98 and 3/4 percent guaranteed.)” — Dr. Seuss

In between doing what we have to do to make our dreams possible, we can often lose track. This can be because of our own fears, insecurities, or by others telling us we can’t achieve our ambitions. Whatever it is, we all feel this way. I, myself, am guilty of this. Last year, I reached a breaking point. Between losing my mother to ovarian cancer (in three months from being diagnosed), dealing with those emotions (while being myself a cancer survivor) and having a persistent urge to pursue what I wanted to do now more than ever — I couldn’t wait anymore. Time is too precious to not live my dreams. I was doubtful of every step I took, but knew there was only one way forward. This feeling only got stronger as people told me that I couldn’t accomplish anything or was wrong to try. I had one mission: to create.

I vocalized it one morning by saying, “To create is to succeed. Will I get there? Yes, I will,” and reminded myself of this every day afterward.

You never have to give up. Modify your path along the way. Make the course corrections you see fit…but never give up. You will indeed succeed.
