Our group was mapping the Postmates’ Developers Experience. To start off, since none of our group had used Postmates before, we quickly set off to learn everything about it: using the website, the iPhone app, and the iWatch app. Following the Developer’s journey, however, we did not need any of these. We quickly formed 5 categories to learn about what a Postmates Developer is: Companies using the Postmates API, API capabilities, Incorporating Postmates API, Postmates delivery benefits, and API development by Postmates.

Originally thinking a Postmates Developer was just the team developing the application, we quickly found out that there were two pathways: companies could incorporate Postmates into their existing applications or use Postmates as a delivery service similar to UPS/FedEx.

We then started work on the proposition definition and figuring out what really went on in the Developer’s journey. We were quickly halted during the sign up process due to not having a real app to submit, and had to find other sources of information instead of firsthand experience. We tried to simulate a timeline as best as we could from secondhand sources, moving post it notes back and forth till we could identify their true spot in the journey.

After more detailed brainstorming, we worked together to create our final Proposition Definition Map, Journey Map, and Stakeholder Value Map.
