Hey! Excited about User Experience Design, come and get in the groove of learning UX/UI Design the fun way.

Here meet my friend Pantomac an inquisitive chap who will be assisting me in documenting my Journey of UX/UI design from scratch. We are here to help you with the peculiarities of this field and make you more confident about the designing skills you already got!

Mac says Hi 👋🏻

Let’s get started!

Day 1- Agenda

  1. 5 Basics of Design you can’t miss to know!
  2. Good vs Bad Design
  3. Bonus tip from Pantomac !!!
  • BASICS YOU NEED TO KNOW

1. What do you mean by Design Mac ? “It’s a method of problem solving . Moreover it is the Steps or sequence of steps taken to solve a visual or physical problem.”

2. What is HCD (human-centred Design)?

The Process of creating things for humans , keeping in mind their needs, wants , perception and psychology by applying human factors/ergonomics .

Example: a pen, shoe, water taps

3. What is UCDP ( User Centered Design Process)

User-centered design is a more focused and concise version of human- centered design with a deeper analysis of the target audience. a user can or cannot be a human necessarily.

Example: a wheelchair, dog house.

4. The Essential Elements of User-Centered Design

Visibility: Users should be able to see from the beginning what they can do.

Accessibility: Users should be able to find information easily and quickly.

Legibility: Text should be easy to read.

Language: Short sentences are preferred here.

5. User Experience

User experience is an emotion a user feels while using a product / service or an object. It is everything that affects the interaction of the user with the product.

A desirable,

A feasible,

A profitable Solution

  • Good vs Bad Design
A knife

knife – Not a Human Centric design , because it fully caters the demand of right handed user but fails in satisfying the demands of left handed people. It can be a good example of user centric design ( users being right handed people only)

The image shows the tip of a highlighter which is widely used for highlighting text in books, somehow I personally feel content by the simplicity of the design of the tip. It is to me an example of a good design

Good design characteristics -

  • Discover-ability
  • Understanding
  • Bonus tip from Mac !!!

Mac, what’s today’s Bonus tip?

Pantomac : “A design should speak for itself, what purpose it is going to serve. Also it should bring ease and comfort to the user.”
