How can you avoid the “shallow learning” trap on Etsy

Shallow learning is a common trap among new Etsy sellers.

This is when we focus only on quick tips, short videos, or simple pieces of advice.

And that is the problem.

Quick advice is like a snack when you’re really hungry for a full meal.

It doesn’t satisfy you for long.

What exactly is shallow learning?

Shallow learning is when we only learn the surface of something.

We watch a short video, read a quick tip, or follow simple advice without really understanding it.

We hear, “Use good keywords” but do not know what “good” really means or how to find the right ones.

This advice is helpful, but you have more knowledge and experience to fully understand it.

  • Not understanding why something works or doesn’t work.
  • Feeling bad when results don’t match expectations.
  • Having issues to solve problems or make improvements on your own.
