What Is History?

History is an Event Type and a Record Type.

What Does This Mean?

Basically, what this means is that before we can begin to ask ourselves what the First Concept(s) are OF HISTORY, we need a proper DATA MODEL to build future systems on.

Seeming as we want our model to be System- and Platform-Agnostic, we have built it on time-tested and true methods: Those of Ancient Accountancy. What we are building are append-only store to record the full sequence of events that describe actions taking place on data in some domain. It is in this regard an Event Sourcing Pattern. We can call this Universe, of History, and the store can be used to materialize objects in this domain, Universe.

These can be Mental Events, Events in Computing, Events in the Philosophical Sense, as well as Events in Probability Theory (Sets of outcomes of an experiment, a subset of sample space).

This last definition of “Event” leads to our design choice, at least in part, of the Noise Field as the original Data Model or Class, Type, Struct, for all structures and types in Historiomics.

Signal Science handles signals and/or events, sequencing, flow of events, etc., and other “historionic” processes, “temporal processes” (See: History-As-Process, Historiomics as “science of things with histories”).
