Turn your Medium post into an 8-page mini-book with one sheet of paper

I wanted a way to give someone a favorite Medium post as a physical object. Like a mini-book, but without the tedium of a print run.

Searching Pinterest for the easiest way to do this, I found these marvelous instructions for making an 8-page zine from the team at Umami Design. They have downloadable templates for .ai and .ind versions.

Basically, you divide the paper in 8-sections, fold and then make a single cut in the middle. To make mine, I copy and pasted sections of my Medium post into the 8 sections, styled it a bit, and a few minutes later… #voilà!

So if you see me at a party and I slip you a folded piece of paper, you’ll know what I’m up to… just hope the Medium mini-book I offer up is this one or this one but if you’re tapping your phone instead of hanging out, you might find hidden in your pocket this little tome.☺
