A friend asked if I would recommend taking a college course on learning Dreamweaver as a primer on web development.

Shortcuts. Taking a course to learn software is not recommended. Learning from a singular perspective is a short cut in disaster. The iterative learning process cannot be rushed and requires a comprehensive understanding of core concepts.

My recommendation. Explore the scenic route, focus on a singular end goal. The holistic learning process would help you understand core concepts, combined with great examples to explore, dissect and experiment with.

Invest time in learning the right way; understand the concepts, experiment, make lots of mistakes and learn from them. Rinse & repeat.

Fact. You retain 90% of what you’ve learned by the immediate application of learning in a real situation…

Priceless.
