These posters are a part of The 4th Block Graphic Designers Association’s open-ended poster campaign “Stand with Ukraine” launched by Association’s founder Oleg Veklenko together with PosterTerritory.com.

Following the terrible events that plunged Ukraine into darkness, “Stand With Ukraine” slogan became known around the world. It inspired Oleg Veklenko, who is currently in Kharkiv, hiding in a bomb shelter, to create this open-end poster call where artists and designers could tell the world how they feel about this horrifying and devastating war.

Since the start of this senseless and brutal war, there are daily reports of the fallen and wounded heroes - defenders of Ukraine, reports of mines in schools and shelling of government buildings and civilian infrastructure. Ukraine is faced with a growing refugee crisis, its cities are besieged by the Russian military, its population is under a constant threat of bombardment, cut off from basic necessities, like water, power and heat. For many food and drinking water is scarce and a great number of old and sick are unable to escape the terrible daily realities of this war.

Posters by: Katsuya Kawahira / Japan, Nikodem Pregowski / Poland, Tomaso Marcolla / Italy; Danilo de Marco / Italy, Damian Klaczkiewicz / Poland, Anett St. Esther /Hungary, Dilyana Peeva / Bulgaria, Miklós E. Zsemberi-Szígyártó / Hungary, Lera Lesyk / Ukraine

We were all overwhelmed and deeply touched by this widespread response of the graphic artists who send us these artworks and this response tells us that we are not alone. Looking at these beautiful posters I feel like we are forming a new army. An army of compassionate creatives. Those who stand with us, fight with us. Those who speak with us and speak for us. Speak for the ones that perished, the ones who are hiding in the bomb shelters and those who are defending every inch of our beloved Ukraine.

This army knows no borders and it can fight from any corner. It can attack ignorance from a computer screen, store-front window, or city banner and defeat aggression with empathy and love!
