What an end!

This studio was one of the most productive course I’ve had till now. The whole process that started from coming up with the concept, till the end where we actually made a programmed prototype for the same.

The whole studio was structured so well. After every small live tutorial, we would have some theory or research based videos/readings. It gave us motivation as we knew what we could achieve with the programs we were working on. It gave us a good head space, leaving us with a lot of time to think about how we would go about our program. Each feedback we got was very well detailed and pointed us to where to go next. People discussed their codes with each other, and each quiz helped us know a tiny bit of this huge world of programming.

Improving the interaction at the canteen, was a good problem to tackle. We discovered so much more along the way, and how it wasn’t only what the problem looked like at the surface. The feedback session during the exhibition was an eye-opener, and we’re glad it happened in the first stages as it helped us built upon it. After testing our prototype at each stage, we noted down every problem and brain-stormed about how to tackle it.

The coding part was a lot of fun. Every small achievement made us so happy, and every error made us feel like we were the most useless people on this planet. From A2 to A3, we saw our program grow and become more realistic. I can see it go further, and we have the intentions to do the same.

At the last few steps, it felt like we knew what we were doing. We were confident about what we had achieved and after a lot of debating, we finalised what features we wanted it to have. With just a little more guidance and hard work, we actually want to make it work in canteens around the country.

I’ve taken the advanced courses for programming, and knowing how scared I felt on the first day of the studio, I now feel confident and very excited to take thing up another notch!
