In the service, we use digital platform to support the whole process, from introducing the service to long-term communication. Here’s the interfaces for the key scenario.

Reaching parents through school events

We introduce our service through school events like back to school night and spirit day. In our secario we use back to school night.

The parent gets an email about the back to school event, where the parents sees that there’s an asthma connect service where she can talk about kid’s asthma situation with both teachers and nurses.

Online registration

Then the parent goes online to the website. Starting the registration, the parent chooses asthma as a communication topic and goes to registration page. The parent fills in the kid’s name and the nurse name and teacher name will automatically pump out. The parent adds her name and she can add more if needed. There’s also time slots offered that parents can choose. Finally the page shows a list of documents that the parents need to take to the communication.

Moving to portal

To help parents keep track of the preparation list and get real-time notification, we designed a touchpoint where parents move from desktop to mobile. By scanning QR code, the parent is able to quickly download the mobile app and also sign in on mobile phone by scanning another QR code.

With the mobile app, the parent is able to view and check off the items in the checklist anytime anywhere. Also when the event day is coming, the parent receives an notification from the mobile app, reminding that don’t forget to get all things ready.

Long-term communication

After the meeting, parents will still have access to the platform and keep long-term communication with teachers and nurses. In our scenario, we choose to show that the parent finds that the kid gets a new asthma trigger. The parent can add a new trigger easily on the website.
