Concept

This is an attempt to illustrate the zietgeist of @ITP_NYU.

Brief Lives — A biographical companion to the Arts, Edited by Louis Kronenberger

Tools Used

Adobe Illustrator, Master Cam 5, Techno CNC Router

Settings

Techno CNC
Cutting Speed : 45 inches / min
Run Time: nearly 2 mins / heart

Master CAM
Depth: 1/2 “ ( including the 1/4 “ sacrificial layer )
Cut Type: Contour as I wanted to have a sharp edges on the cut hole.

Tools used to make the fixtures ( Left ), Top sacrificial layer to keep the pages from ruffling ( Middle ). Router Tool paths in Master Cam 5 ( Right )

Look at all the hearts that lie in the Arts! ☺
Serendipitous poetry!
More Serendipity! The pencil I used to mark the material had “ Happy Valentines’ Day” and hearts all over it!
