An Introduction to the Subject of Digital Design

Introduction
the definition of design is often subjective and streamlined to a particular field of design.
This article hopefully will help you understand Design from a fundamental level following the examples I will be sharing below.

What is Design?
A design is a plan or specification for the construction of an object or system or for the implementation of an activity or process, or the result of that plan or specification in the form of a prototype, product, or process.

The definition above gives us all the information needed to understand design and how to apply it in the creation of objects, systems, or solutions to everyday problems plagued by humanity.
First; Design is a Plan or Specification
We all make plans and work towards future goals this is the core of design, planning is the beginning of a creation process, we get new insights about things and come up with an idea followed by a plan to execute that idea.
At this point Design is simply a plan or specification towards a certain goal, this goal can be a construction of an object or a development of a system e.g. A political system.
For the sake of simplicity let's say we write out a plan and specification to construct a flying Umbrella ☔️
Design is also an Implementation
What comes next after making plans? An implementation of the plan you have made, at this point, you take into consideration all the specifications needed to bring your plan/ideas into fruition
In the implementation phase Design is the process taken to bring the plans and specifications to life, this stage usually requires a level of craftsmanship or professionalism.
Remember the Flying umbrella I talked about? This is the point it's been designed and constructed by professionals in different required fields.
Finally, Design is a prototype, product, or process
This is the final phase where design is an outcome of that plan or specification in the form of a prototype ( e.g our Umbrella Drone prototype) or form of a product (e.g our Umbrella Drone finished product), or a process (e.g the Marketing of the Umbrella Drone).

Careers in Design
There are many careers in the design industry and you will find some that suit you if you search hard enough. One trick is to ask yourself problems you seem to love to find solutions for, designers are problem solvers and they’re lots of problems to be solved.
Conclusion
Everyone subconsciously makes design choices only a few who do them consciously are the designers, innovators, and inventors of society because of their problem-solving abilities.
Design helps us to analyze problems and then come up with viable solutions that solve day-to-day problems faced by society.
