The tale of an Indian interior designer
While they say that this industry has developed a lot, experienced a boom still a lot of people have misconceptions about interior designers, especially in India!
People strongly believe that hiring interior designers is a cause for the wealthy.
The background of this belief is that people do not understand what an interior designer actually does.
We pay a carpenter, electrician, painter, plumber and who not. But it pinches our pocket to pay somebody who supervises this. We tend to think, is it even required? what are we actually paying for?
One of the answers is — TIME One thing that you want to spend on your family and NOT the labour working at your place!
In order to renovate a space, one has to go through a lot of research, extensive background work with regards to different styles and products, their availability, their costing, good manpower, ideas and so on. Believe me, it is a never-ending list and you will never have enough weekends for all this.
An interior designer saves you from all this hassle and contributes their knowledge and experience as well. All you have to do is spare a weekend or two for a meeting with a designer. (Even that is a task in today’s life)
Now surprisingly, the other answer is MONEY — the one thing that you want to spend on well, endless other things! (no need to suggest more and add even that to the list)
This ‘additional cost’ that you spend on a designer will eventually save you money. A designer helps you take those budget-friendly decisions that will not just fit in perfectly in your space but enhance it as well.
Also, a designer will always stick to your budget. (which you might lose track of once you see the pretty pictures online, your friend’s place or endless options available in the market)
We at DesignTales24, find it challenging to be able to stick to the clients’ budget and even try to give them an element of joy by trying to minimize it even by an inch! (damn difficult! but gives us that rush)
