Kink, Body Positivity and Lingerie
In my last post, I talked about how BDSM taught me to love my body and enabled me to fully embrace my sexuality — kinks and all! The freedom to not worry about a thigh jiggle or swinging boobies had transformative qualities. And may I add, it was brilliant for my sex life.
Thinking about how much time I had wasted on hating my body and how differently I feel now, I felt a responsibility to share this experience with others, especially bigger, curvy women, who may be struggling with the same kinds of issues I had. Because darlings, life is just too short to not be doing all the dirty little things you’ve been fantasizing about.

I felt I needed to bridge that gap between “big” and “sexy”, despite the fashion industry’s widespread message that bigger women possess no sex appeal and have no business in anything connected to the erotic. I also wanted to encourage people to get in touch with their desires, no matter what they’ve been told about their bodies.
And what better way to do this than through fetish lingerie.
I find lingerie fascinating. Even though it is a deeply private and intimate garment, it is often the source of much public controversy. Lingerie, and people’s bodies in lingerie, have the capacity to provoke and elicit incredibly strong emotions. Post a photo of a fat woman in a bikini and the world just goes nuts.

I wanted to leverage this and challenge the current perception of beauty and eroticism. And I chose to do this by making powerfully sultry lingerie for large curves.
This is how Pique Lingerie was born, my kinky underwear label specializing in drop-dead sexy styles in cups DD+.

Pique Lingerie is both invitation and provocation. It is an invitation for people of all shapes and sizes to explore their sexuality and indulge, as well as a means of provoking a more inclusive attitude towards what is attractive and erotic.
That taboo of associating sex, power and indulgence with bigger bodies? Well, we’re breaking it. One bra at a time.
