Coworking is as much about the co as it is about the working. To inspire you with what’s possible with a Deskpass membership, we want to introduce you to one of our members.

What kind of work do you do?
I help insurance agents to see success in sales more quickly through one-on-one coaching and workshop facilitation.

What’s something you’re working on right now?
I’m developing a keynote that helps women understand their relationship with risk, including practical tools to help women build confidence in their ability to manage risk .

What was your workspace situation like pre-Deskpass?
I’ve worked from home in the traditional sense for many years — my dining room doubled as my office and let’s just say my “uniform” wasn’t suitable for the outside world! My days lacked structure and it felt isolating at times.

Why did you choose a Deskpass membership?
Deskpass has helped me to structure my days so I can conveniently connect with clients, and also maximize productivity by reducing the downtime created by a commute. It’s also an exceptionally affordable solution for me, as it helps to keep my overhead costs low by not committing to a traditional lease.

What factors do you consider when booking a Deskpass space?
Location, location, location! I rarely visit the same space more than once a month, as most often I select a space for the day based on its proximity to a meeting or event I’m also attending. I also value private spaces to have phone conversations, and easy access to affordable parking is a plus.

What’s your favorite Deskpass related moment…so far?
I’m always happy when I learn that another entrepreneur I meet along the way is a Deskpass member; to be able to meet in a shared space to achieve our business goals, but also create connection and build camaraderie, is an unexpected bonus of membership.

What’s your favorite snack to bring with you?
Pistachios! But typically unshelled to minimize the distraction!

What’s a coworking tip you have for new Deskpassers?
Spend a few minutes getting to know the community manager or host when you arrive; ask for a tour if you’re visiting a space for the first time. Many spaces have amenities available to you that may not be obvious!

Are you an extrovert or introvert? If so, how do you cowork to suit your personality?
I value both connection and quiet — so both! The flexibility of Deskpass allows me to be in community with a moment’s notice, and then also adjust when my schedule — or soul — needs some solitude.

If you could cowork with anyone, who would it be and why?
Brene Brown — but I suspect she wouldn’t get much done for all the chatting I’d be doing!

In case we forgot to mention…We’re a monthly membership that currently gives you access to these spaces and 250+ in Chicago, NYC, SF, LA, Austin, Denver, Boston, and Miami. We think Deskpass is a fantastic way to explore coworking, get you out of your home office or your local cafe and around a bunch of vibrant communities of lovely folks.

Try us out for 30 days to see what it’s all about!
