What kind of work do you do?
Design, Photography — I make things look nice so they sell well. :) (check her out here)
Very cool! What’s something you’re working on right now?
Making a prototype of our startup’s marketing site.
What was your workspace situation like pre-Deskpass?
I have a home office and studio that I love, but whenever I needed a change of pace I’d go to a coffeeshop, the Cultural Center, the library — wherever there’s a table, an outlet, and wifi.
The Cultural Center is an inspired choice! Why did you choose a Deskpass membership?
The options gave my life flexibility. I liked the idea of working in whatever neighborhood I wanted, and when Deskpass expanded to other cities, I love that I can run off to New York or LA for a week and know that I have a place to get my work done.
So you run off to a new city…what’s your favorite way to introduce yourself to other coworkers?
Whenever I see someone doing something really cool — I ask about their project.
Any must-haves while coworking?
I have my headphones and two pairs of backup headphones stashed away in my backpack.
What’s a coworking tip you have for new Deskpassers?
Close your eyes and choose a random space on the map. It’s fun!
Example of someone you’ve met while coworking?
I went to Cogen when they first listed, met a fellow female esports fan- Keisha of @sugargamers, who was being interviewed by a writer, Jen, from Block Club Chicago (group of writers from DNAinfo). We all just started chatting. It was awesome. This is just one example — exposure to so many different people and places fosters a lot of great connections and experiences.
