PLEASE NOTE:

All Desmos Foundation delegations will be removed. All validators are invited to participate in the new delegation plan. After the new plan is implemented, the current delegation will be removed.

Introduction

Desmos is thrilled to announce the Desmos Delegation Programme to further enhance the growth and innovation within the Desmos network. This program is designed to:

1. Encourage and reward validators who innovate and collaborate within the Desmos network.

2. Nurture a stronger bond between the validator community and the Desmos community.

3. Increase network decentralization, aligning with our governance goals.

4. Boost the health and security of the validator set through greater incentives for node maintenance, engagement, and expansion.

The ultimate goal is to establish a self-sustaining cycle, where constructive participation within the network leads to higher rewards, thereby promoting further participation.

Allocation

The Total Delegation Amount will comprise up to 32 million DSM tokens, which will be delegated to validators who contribute positively to the Desmos ecosystem. The introduction of tokens from the Desmos Foundation into the active set may gradually increase the percentage of bonded tokens, potentially reducing inflation over time.

Eligibility

All entities are eligible to apply excluding those from sanctioned countries. Validators who have already received a Desmos Foundation delegation will have to apply again to update the delegation, which will otherwise be removed completely.

Criteria

For consideration in the Desmos delegation program, validators should actively contribute to the growth of the Desmos ecosystem. Contributions can be in at least one of the following areas:

Technical:

  1. Contributions to Desmos Core modules or to Desmos-SDK tools.
  2. Integrated or developed Desmos features in an existing product or a new one.
  3. Contributions or support with Desmos infrastructure: validators who have supported or contributed to Desmos infrastructure such as IBC relays, network indexing services, or other Web3 functionalities.

Community:

  1. Support to other validators via Discord, guides and tutorials.
  2. Creation of educational content: validators who create educational content to onboard new users to the Desmos ecosystem and promote its use and adoption.
  3. Community building: validators who work to grow the community by organizing AMAs, hosting meetups, fostering discussion and collaboration among users and validators, onboarding delegators, and other initiatives.

Participation:

  1. History of validator participation for both testnet and mainnet.
  2. Validators with a solid record of running validators across other networks demonstrating healthy maintenance and uptime.
  3. Participation in governance: interaction with proposals made so far, and debate sharing on the network among users and other validators.

Malus

Validators who have had slashing events or other types of critical issues can have a maximum 5-point malus on the evaluation unless they provide an attached explanation.

Duration

The application window will be open for three weeks (until August 18th), providing enough time for validators to submit their applications for consideration.

Every 6 months there will be a new delegation review where validators can make requests based on their new contributions. The reviews do not involve removal of delegations, but redistribution of tokens if there are new contributions from validators.
