How to buy $DSM
Back in January 2022, $DSM token was listed on Osmosis DEX. Here is a step by step guide on how to buy $DSM if you are new to the cryptocurrency world.
1) Install Keplr extension
First of all, you need to install Keplr extension from Chrome Web Store and set up your interchain non-custodial wallet. Keplr will allow you to manage most of the different tokens from the Cosmos ecosystem such as ATOM, AKT, and even the same DSM.
2) Create a new account
There are 4 different options to complete the sign-in process, and if you are a newcomer to web3, it is recommended to use the “Create new account” button so you can store your own private key. Remember to keep the secret words that will be delivered to you in a safe place. Losing them could lead to the loss of your funds!
3) Connect Keplr to Osmosis
Once your account is created, you will be able to connect your Keplr account to Osmosis DEX, making it possible to transfer your funds from Keplr to Osmosis and vice versa. Visit https://app.osmosis.zone/, and press the Connect Wallet button.
To buy $DSM you will need any Cosmos ecosystem token you prefer to trade. Let’s make an example using ATOM, the most known token on Cosmos.
4) Fund your Keplr wallet
If you previously bought ATOM on an exchange (Binance, Kraken, etc.) or on another DEX (Crescent, Rango, etc.) you will be able to transfer them to your cosmos address on Keplr just with a send/withdrawal transaction, by entering your corresponding Keplr wallet address. As you can see in the capture below, the atom address always starts with cosmos, and is located just under the username “Mister X”.
5) Deposit your funds inside your Osmosis account
Now, let’s see how to perform the deposit (you can do the same operation with every cosmos token you own) from Keplr to Osmosis and convert any token into $DSM.
The first step is to go to the “Assets” page and click on the deposit button for the token you want to transfer from Keplr. After you have signed the transaction, the deposit operation will be completed.
6) Swap your tokens with $DSM
Now, you can move on to the “Trade” page. Here you can select the token you deposited on the From window, and the token you want to get on the To (in this case we are going to select DSM) window. Once the pair is set, you can proceed with the Swap button.
After signing the transaction, your trade will be completed!
Congratulations, you just purchased your first $DSM tokens.
