Last week, on April 26th, we successfully launched our last testnet marking the official end of our Desmos Validators Program. This was the second incentivized program that we ran, and over time has seen more than 580 validator nodes participating and a total of 5.4 million DSM being allocated as possible rewards.

Before that, since our first testnet in January 2020, we also run the Desmos Primer program. This has been participated by more than 170 people and a total of more than 360.000 DSM being allocated as possible rewards.

We’ve been extremely happy with this overall participation in all of our incentivized programs, and it’s now time for you to finally claim your rewards. In order to do this, you will have to use our KYC website.

Submitting your KYC information

The first thing that you have to do in order to submit your information to get the rewards, is go on our KYC website. This can be found at https://kyc.desmos.network.

Once there, you can start the procedure by clicking on the “Get started” button.

Once done, you will be prompted to our disclaimer. Please make sure you ready it fully and, when ready, click on the “Proceed button”

Now you need to select which program you have taken part to:

  • if you completed even a single challenge of the Desmos Primer program, please select the “Desmos Primer” option;
  • if you ran a node even for a single month of the Desmos Validator Program, please select “Validator Programme”

Note.
If you took part to both programs, please select both options.

Insert in the next page your e-maill address. Please make sure this is an active account that you use often as we will use it to confirm your submission.

Desmos Primer information

If you took part to the Desmos Primer program, you now have to fill two fields.

Github Username
First, you have to insert the GitHub username that you used to enter the challenges. This can be found going inside your GitHub profile, on the left side of the screen:

Mainnet Address
Second, you need to insert your mainnet address that will receive the tokens you have earned as rewards. Please see the “About mainnet addresses” section below to know more about this.

Validator Program information

If you took part to the Desmos Validator Program, you now have to fill two required fields and you can optionally field another two.

Testnet Operator Address
The first field, named “Testnet Operator Address”, identifies the address of your validator node inside our past testnets. This address must start with desmosvaloper and you can find it by running the following command from within your node:

desmos keys show <your_key> --address --bech=val

Please note that the your_key should be the same name that you used while running the desmos keys add <your_key> command, and you can find it again by using the desmos keys list command.

Mainnet Rewards Address
The second field must contain the address of the account that will receive your rewards. Please see the “About mainnet addresses” section below to know more about this.

Mainnet Self Delegate Address (Optional)
The third field should be filled only if you are going to take part to the mainnet as a validator. If you are going to simply be a delegator, then do not fill this field.

If you are going to run a validator node, then this field should contain the address of the self-delegator account you will use. We’ve added this field to allow you to split the rewards in two accounts not connected to each other: the rewards account and the self-delegate account.

Please note that this field is optional, and if you only want to have a single account you can simply omit it.

Extra Comments (Optional)
Finally, if you have anything you would like us to know please use the “Extra Comments” field of this page.

Once you have filled all the fields properly, click on the “Next” button to see the recap of all your info. Please make sure you double check the values and they are all correct. If you are ready, click again on the “Next” button to start the verification process.

About mainnet addresses

When you need to insert a mainnet-related address (either a Reward Address, or a Self-delegate Address) we highly suggest you to generate such addresses using our account website: https://account.desmos.network/.

This should be used possibly offline, to make sure that there are less risks of your mnemonic being leaked. Also, remember to always store your mnemonic phrase on a piece of paper.

Do never store your mnemonic phrase on a digital device.

Also, note that by using our application you will be able to generate more than one address from the same mnemonic. This is particularly useful if you want to split the rewards in to accounts: your personal one and your self-delegation one. To do this, simply change the “Number of addresses to generate” using the appropriate buttons.

Closing remarks

Please make sure you submit your KYC entry before Sunday May 9 13:00 UTC. If you fail in doing so, your rewards will not be allocated to you.
