No reward for Morpheus Apollo

No reward for Apollo testnet

We need to clarify this one point: Apollo, the final testnet before the launch of mainnet (beta) of Desmos, will not provide any reward. It is not an incentivized testnet. It is a preparation for validators who are interested to become our mainnet validators.

Let us repeat again: no reward for Morpheus Apollo.

This has already been highlighted in our post “Road to Desmos Mainnet — Part 1” :

“… … we will reward validators that have taken part to the morpheus-13001 testnet the day that the “Apollo” testnet launches.

After such date, the Desmos Validators Program will end and there will not be any new incentivization program for the “Apollo” testnet… …”

We have provided very good rewards for validators who have worked hard with us in the previous testnets. The earlier you participate, the higher incentives you are eligible to earn. Incentivized testnet is designed for our early believers.

Why no reward for Apollo?

Apollo, due to its nature, cannot become an incentivized testnet. Apollo is for:

• Experienced validators who are serious to become our mainnet validators and hence want to have a final rehearsal
• Newcomers who want to learn how to become our validators

Providing short-term incentives for Apollo will defeat the above purposes.

Alternatives

Instead of a pre-defined incentives based on a set of KPIs, we will consider to provide discretionary rewards for validators who are actively contributing in our community and helping others. At the end of the day, validator is not only about node operation.

We will also announce delegation plan after the completion of Apollo testnet.

Conclusion

We are serious to make Desmos one of the greatest validator communities. We are confident we can achieve this as we ourselves are also active validators in various blockchain ecosystems. Thank you for all your loves and supports since the first day of Desmos. Let’s make it happen.
