Over the Weekend I had the chance to play a game that I truly enjoy to play every now and then called Beat saber. This experience was done on the PS4 version of the game which is about the same as the experience I had earlier in the year on a top end PC.

Beat Saber is a rhythm game that is played using two VR controllers to cut blocks that are coming at you in half to make a beat. The goal is to not fail the song and get as high of a score as possible while the song goes. You are also to try and avoid any hazards that come along the way as well by ducking diving and diving away from laser walls and bombs while still trying to cut the cubes. Though you may want to watch the cubes as the come for they require a specific color of blade to cut and some times a specific direction to be cut from.

The game as a whole is more or less for everyone as long as people moderate the songs for kids. It is also great for anyone who wants to play games but also want to get in some exercise for the day for it is very active. I would also recommend it to anyone who is a fan of Starwars so you can practice you light saber dueling skills.

The game is a VR game that has 6-DOF(Room-Scale). It is required that you stand so that you can avoid the hazards as best as possible. It also supports haptic feedback as the controllers vibrate when you make contact with your target. The game also allows you to make and download custom songs for the game and play new songs as you go.

The strengths of the game is that you do not have to go very far to play the game for it is mostly stationary accept for avoiding objects. I had no problem with lag which made it feel good to play and I was able to customize my sabers too make it really feel more custom to me.

A few things I would fix though is make it so that there was a way to battle friends and have more than one person play the game at once. I would also make it so that there was a way to censor certain songs for there is some inappropriate stuff in the community for the game. Other than that I think it would be a good idea to make it more easy for someone who has a hard time moving around to play so it was more accessible.

If there were to be S.L.A.M. in beat saber what would t look like? maybe a cool way to work it out is to have the system scan the room and have the beat come at you from all directions. It would be hard to keep track of everything though and it could cause some rough play. My recommendation would be to not add S.L.A.M. to this program for it dose not work with the way the program was intended to be used.
