Madison is the capital of the state of Wisconsin. Founded in 1829, Madison became the capital of the Wisconsin Territory before the territory gained statehood. Known for its food and beautiful lakes, Wisconsin is truly a place for millennials.

Friday nights in Madison consist of a trip to the Union Terrace. The Union is largely known for the sunset views it has to offer. Throughout the year people can see watching movies, listening to live bands and enjoying the company of others. Boaters will often dock their boats at The Union to enjoy the fun.

Saturday mornings kick off with a trip to Short Stack. Short Stack is known for having some of the best pancakes in Madison. Located on State Street, Short Stack leads you down to the famous farmers market. People from all over the state travel to the farmers market to purchase locally grown food.

State Street is a popular tourist destination. Locally owned stores and restaurants line the street. Tourists who are looking for the perfect souvenir will find it on State Street.

Madison is known for their beautiful lakes, Lake Monona and Lake Mendota. During the summer the lakes are filled with sailboats. Water surfing is the locals favorite water sport.

Madison is cold in the winter months. But come summer locals will flee their homes to soak up the sun. If you want to enjoy some beer, brats and cheese Madison is the place for you.
