DESTINY DECODED SERIES

IN STORES NOW:http://td.je/destinybn

Over the next 3 weeks, we will be taking an in-depth look at Destiny as guided by Bishop T.D. Jakes’ extremely popular sermon series.

Part 17 of 18

TIME STAMP: 13:24–22:30

Before you came to this planet, you were God’s creation. You were born with a destiny and purpose. You were placed here with an identity. Before you took your first step; before you said your first words; before you took your first breath, you were already everything God created you to be. Sure, you had some growing to do, but every mighty thing began in seed form. Just recall how the oak tree started as an acorn.

Since you were already everything you were supposed to be, something got skewed along the way. Something was suggested to you that made you believe otherwise. Something you read made you question your God-given identity and talents. As a result, you are striving and working to become something you already are!

This society is filled with people doing things in order to prove themselves. Just take a look at Social Media. The Creator never instructed any of us to complete and fulfill the tasks before us in order to prove or disprove the people around us. To be quite honest with you, those people are immaterial when it comes to you fulfilling your purpose and destiny. Are they without worth? No. However, the importance we place on the acceptance of others is often detrimental to our future.

The acceptance we seek from others is based on the assumption that we are not who or what God created us to be. Therefore, we must assert who and what we are in order for others around us to understand and receive us. That is not how things work in God’s sight.

God is after the lie you believed that makes you think that you must do something, possess something, or display something in order for you to be who you already are. You are a human being, regardless of the opinions of others. What sense does it make for you to walk around this planet, trying to prove your humanity to others via blood and DNA tests? If you are a writer, you needn’t sit at your computer or desk with your writing utensil to disprove someone else’s theory. No, you write because you already are a writer.

This question that the world and the enemy planted in your mind that makes you seek exterior validation must be dealt away with in the pursuit of your destiny. If it is not, you run the risk of selling your future and identity for the acceptance of others.

Your identity is not based on your performance, possessions, or those who like you. Who you are is based solely on God’s blueprint of you.The enemy would say, “If thou be…”

God says, “You already are…”
