Dear DeStream friends,

First of all, we want to express our gratitude to those of you who followed our team through the amazing week-long Gamescom fair. We witnessed a strong uptick both on our website and platform, and in all social networks that we maintain. This sign of approval of yours means a lot, and we are happy to know that we are on the right track.

Gamescom is not any exhibition — this is a gigantic event that attracts as many as half a million visitors (or very close to it) every year. There are hundreds of companies willing to present their latest achievements to those people. We spent some time to put all important (and entertaining) numbers in graphics for you. Enjoy!

Gamescom per se

During four days the fair, August 20–24, a total of 1,153 companies ensured unprecedented gaming diversity in the Cologne exhibition halls in an expanded area of 218,000 square metres. A total of 0.4 million visitors from over 100 countries attended the event. These were joined by millions of gamers worldwide who followed the innovations online: more than 500,000 spectators alone simultaneously watched the Gamescom: Opening Night Live show with producer and moderator Geoff Keighley.

DeStream’s Gamescom

Our participation was a major success by all measurements. DeStream “started by starting” — for those of you not familiar with the story, DeStream launched the system in the first day of the exhibition. Over the course of Gamescom event we had over 2,000 people registering on the platform, this is enough to fill six passenger airplanes.

DeStream respected partners had as many as 160,000 views, something close to the Metropolitan museum has in full week. Let us remind you of those exceptional brands: Gravitonus, a USA-Russian design and construction bureau, Razer, a California-based producer of amazing gamers’ gadgets, Taiwan-domiciled AOC that produces and supplies the highest quality monitors, Red Bull who supplied a cool branded fridge full with their drinks, and AimControllers that has the most affordable competitive controllers you can imagine.

We had some massive streaming activity going on in the booth, and the newly registered users reacted with donations, a whole lot of those. A total of €2,732 was donated; if you split this into 1-cent coins, the tower built of those will stand at 442 meters, higher than any building in Germany. The average donation was €12,25 — enough to buy six Pretzels. It is worth noting that 154 streamers have registered on the platform, another important number to confirm that DeStream is implementing something valuable and useful.

The streaming team

Our impressive streaming crew was inspired by the captain — the great Remyr Deagal aka Jack Sparrow! Another star of the show was Natalie Moore, our strings and charms. We had more than that with Holy Jinni, Tim MSSH and Jakub “Lothar” Szygulski taking part in the action, as well as several breathtaking surprise visitors including Grammy nominated “The Snow Owl”. There were 100+ songs played during the show hours which is roughly 7% of a person’s annual need for music. In total, DeStream 52 live translation hours resulted in massive 12,000 streaming hours on DeStream crew channels, thus making a fair 0.036% daily contribution to Twitch total world daily views.

What else? Well, we were pretty equipped, and gave out over 5,000 units of merchandise thus providing 1.3% of all Gamescom visitors with our items. There were about 3,000,000 pieces of confetti fired via our machine (and carefully cleaned by DeStream CFO Tachat Igityan later). And — no shame here, just pride — 100 meters of tasty Kölsch consumed during our late evening planning and organization meetings…

The last but not the least: DeStream team was moving back and forth to make as many new acquaintances as possible and to arrange new partnerships for our future development. This led to the team walking an enormous distance of 498 kilometers, enough to arrive from Cologne in Paris on foot.

Come to Gamescom next year, we will definitely be there for you. And sign up for DeStream platform to enjoy this new ultimate donation experience with low 0.77% commissions and convenient way to the true emotions all streamers and viewers want.
