At 08:28hrs MST this morning I replied to a tweet by fellow Medium writer and The Startup publisher, Ali Mese on which he distilled the process of writing down to 6 basic steps, which ranged from #1, the writer “…want[ing] to write about something…”; to #6, the writer realizing that when something finally “…works, [he or she] realize[s] 90% of the ideas [he or she] started with were wrong…”

I admit, this could well be true; but for me personally, my process — if my method, such as it is, could be called a “process”—is nowhere near as complicated. In typical scattershot fashion, my first response was “…Nope. Not even close. For me is #1) Get an idea in your head. #2) Research it. #3) Write the first draft in your head. #4) Edit draft(s) in your head until you’re satisfied. #4)Write first draft on paper (word processor). #5)Publish on Medium. #6)Edit a[d] infinitum…”

I very much intended to leave it at that; but as with such things, the guy inside my head that writes and does all the creative stuff, had apparently much more to say about that, “…I can literally write about anything, at any time, drop of the hat.
