A beginner’s introduction to Docker & why it’s awesome?

Let’s recap!

Docker Registry

$ docker run nginx
$ docker run docker.io/nginx/nginxdocker.io - Name of the docker registry
nginx - Name of the User / Account
nginx - Name of the Image / Repository
$ docker run -d -p 5000:5000 --name registry registry:2
$ docker image tag my-image localhost:5000/my-image
$ docker push localhost:5000/my-image
$ docker pull localhost:5000/my-imageor $ docker pull 192.168.1.10:5000/my-image

Docker Engine

$ docker -H=remote-docker-engine:2375 <command> <image-name>e.g.
$ docker -H=192.168.1.10:2375 run nginx
$ docker run --cpu=.5 ubuntu
$ docker run --memory=1000m ubuntu
